Addressing a press conference to announce various people-friendly initiatives, Khaunte also promised a common email address “[email protected]” for the people to air their grievances if they are not happy with the services. “This is an initiative that is common in the corporate sector and we seek to corporatize the department. When exiting the department, the user has to choose from a range of five smileys ranging from very happy to very sad to capture the satisfaction levels of the citizens accessing services in the revenue offices and the address problem areas,” the Revenue Minister said.
Users will have to enter their mobile number, and if they choose among the dissatisfied smileys there will be follow-up action from the department to inquire into why the user was unhappy, Khaunte said. He also promised to rebrand all revenue offices which includes the offices of the Collectors, Deputy Collectors and Mamlatdars as ‘zero tolerance to corruption’ offices with banners and posters informing users of their rights as well as to reject corruption in any form, implementing the Time Bound Delivery of Services Act with strict compliance on timelines, etc.
Khaunte said that the department would start a three-month drive to clear all pending mutation cases, besides mandating that all fresh mutation cases be cleared within a period of 90 days from start to end. “All these initiative will fall in place within the next few months or so and may not be implemented immediately but will definitely be in place over the next month or so. He said the launch of e-Districts will take place on April 15 which will enable village-level service delivery, and single window for partition and conversion which is available in some talukas will be expanded to all and brought under a single portal enabling filing of online applications & digital lockers.
