The Directorate of Mines and Geology has extended the deadline for bidders to lift e-auctioned ore lying at various primary locations to May 31, 2027, following requests from bidders. The bidders were initially asked to lift the cargo by May 2026. Earlier, the deadline had been extended to June 6, 2025. DMG has so far conducted 31 e-auctions, selling nearly 16 million tonnes of ore since January 2014. In an order, DMG Director Narayan Gad permitted successful bidders to lift their cargo from primary locations by May 31, 2027.
“The time period for such lifting of e-auctioned ore had ended on May 31, 2026, and subsequent requests were received from successful bidders for extension of time. Therefore, the Government is now pleased to further extend the time limit for lifting of the e-auctioned cargo from the 1st to the 31st e-auction from the primary location till May 31, 2027,” the order stated. Before obtaining transit permits, bidders have to provide the e-auction number, stack number, location, quantity won, balance quantity to be lifted and total amount paid. They will also have to submit sale agreements or other documents along with the sale permit to authenticate the sale.
The last e-auction was held in November last year, when 7.5 lakh metric tonnes of ore was sold.
