On the eve of the public meeting at the Lohia Maidan, Margao on Saturday evening, the Citizens of Goa has asserted that DNA profiling of the vest is more important and must be done immediately as it will determine the path the Crime Branch should follow in its investigations in the Bismarque Dias death case.
“We have been given to understand that the viscera report from Hyderabad, has arrived, and as expected has come negative, with nothing new to reveal. COG has always emphasised that DNA profiling of the vest is more important, and must be done, immediately, as this will determine the path, the Crime Branch should follow in its investigation," COG president Kennedy Afonso said.
He said the finding of the blood stained vest, has shattered the theory of the case of accidental death by drowning, and is a very important piece of evidence that, suggests that there was foul play involved in Bismarque's death. If the DNA profiling is found positive, the two boys then have to give a story to justify how the vest got stained with blood," he said, adding 'If the DNA report comes positive, then it also casts a shadow of doubt on the autopsy report, as the doctors will then have to tell the people of Goa, from which part of the body the blood stains came from."
“That the DNA profiling has taken almost 20 days, and that the Crime Branch says that it might take another 25 days more, suggests that forces are delaying the report, to either manipulate the DNA report, or they are hoping that by delaying the report, the matter will slowly die down," Afonso said.
He warned the government that the agitation will only gain momentum after the meeting at Lohia Maidan on December 12 evening. “We are going to every village demanding justice for Bismarque.
It is in the interest of everybody, that the government comes out with the DNA report," he demanded.
