Do Goans want anti-Hindu, treacherous TMC, asks BJP

PANAJI

Declaring the TMC as unfaithful to its voters as well as members, the BJP on Saturday questioned whether the Mamata Banerjee-led party can be trusted by a common Goenkar. The saffron party also termed the TMC as anti-Hindu.

In a press release, the BJP stated that ahead of the Goa assembly polls, general secretary of TMC Adv Yatish Naik resigned from the party saying that the Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee is treacherous.

"This is not the first time that the TMC was described as such in its short stint in Goa. Last month Lavoo Mamledar also quit the Trinamool Congress criticizing that the party is trying to divide Goans over religious lines," BJP states in the release.

"In West Bengal, almost 20% of the State lives below the poverty line. West Bengal performs extremely poorly in terms of food security as well scoring a lowly 43 on the NITI Aayog Index. The BJP government in Goa has created jobs for Goans and ensured social security through its major schemes like Dayanand Social Security Schemes and Pradhan Mantri Anna Yojana," the release adds.

"The TMC is trying to agitate Goan women on safety issues while women's life in West Bengal is under constant threat. The crime against women has been increasing day by day in Bengal," the release states.

"The life of an average Hindu in West Bengal is that of living in constant fear under the corrupt and tyrannical rule of TMC. Violence against Hindus in the post-Bengal election phase by the TMC cadre is a fresh example of how the Hindus are being harassed and tortured."

"More than a lakh Hindus were forced to flee their homes due to the post-poll violence. Amongst the people who had fled their homes, many of them chose to pick up jobs in other States rather than return to West Bengal," the release said.

"The party that claims to be the party of Ma Shantadurga in Goa, brought hurdles and looked to stop the Durga-puja idol processions over the years because Muharram falls on the same day.”

"TMC has not taken any tough action on communal violence against the Hindu community in Basirhat, where a mob of 5,000 people burned houses and shops and police vehicles. The TMC government in Bengal gives Rs 2,500 stipend to Muslim Imamas per months while there was no salary to Hindu priest until the 2020 election was declared- a meagre amount of Rs 1,000," states the press release.

“Mamata-led TMC being anti-Hindu and treacherous is not new and now it has been proved by its own members who left the party recently. The party has no principle, it has always only preached and is trying to fool Goan voters on the basis of fake promises and schemes which are not even implemented in West Bengal."

"Compared to West Bengal, Goa under BJP-led government is far better in all sectors. Goa has the highest per capita income in the country. BJP already has major social security schemes in Goa to strengthen the life of common Goans," the release adds.
