Docs mum on condition of Francis' health

PANAJI: Former Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza is undergoing treatment at the Healthway Hospital in Old Goa and doctors attending on him declined to comment on his condition citing doctor-patient confidentiality.
D'Souza, who is MLA of Mapusa, was diagnosed with colon cancer last year. He was dropped from the Manohar Parrikar-led cabinet in November on health grounds while he was admitted to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York. Parrikar too had undergone treatment there earlier for advanced pancreatic cancer.
The Mapusa MLA had reacted angrily over the dual policy of his BJP party of dropping him from the cabinet and continuing with a similarly ailing Parrikar. He was admitted to the Healthway Hospital more than two weeks ago in a critical condition which forced him to skip the three-day budget session held January-end.
