A resident of Sancoale, Dr Kalidas Vaingankar has filed his nomination papers for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat as an Independent, taking the number of nominations filed for the South Goa seat to five.
He filed his nomination papers before South Goa Returning Officer Asvin Chandru on Thursday. The 44-year-old doctor by profession has declared total assets pegged around Rs 10.55 lakh.
In his affidavit, Kalidas has stated that two criminal cases are pending against him registered by the Verna police in 2019 and 2023 including the alleged offence of trespass, obstructing complainant and attempt to install idol of Hindu Goddess.
A MBBS from the Goa Medical College, Bambolim, Kalidas is an Associate Fellow of Industrial Health, Institute of Safety, Occupational Health and Environment, Altinho 2015.
