Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday urged students to set ambitious goals and work with determination, perseverance and consistency to achieve success.
Addressing the silver jubilee celebrations of the Samraat Student Foundation, organised by Samraat International at Ravindra Bhavan, Sanquelim, Sawant advised students to stay focused on academics while giving equal importance to their physical and mental well-being.
“Spending time only watching reels on mobile phones will not help you gain knowledge. Students should use technology to learn new skills, improve their knowledge and work towards achieving their goals,” he said.
The Chief Minister felicitated 25 students and achievers who excelled in academics, medicine, sports, arts and other fields.
The students felicitated were Riyana Nadaf, Shruti Sawant, Delston D’Souza, Vrushabh Satarkar, Rudresh Shetkar, Shreya Naik, Manjusha Madkaikar, Bhupesh Naik, Dr Shruti Naik, Mangesh Sakordekar, Dr Nimisha Parkar, Dr Tanvi Sanjgiri, Dr Trupti Arondekar, Vaibhavi Gawas, Vedang Satarkar, Dr Shriraj Sawant, Neha D’Rocha, Dr Shreeganesh Nagvekar, Prathamesh Shanbhag, Dr Ojaswi Gavde, Reema Parab, Namita Advaikar, Vishakha Matkar, Mekhala Salkar and Shravani Abhisheki.
Sawant said the State government was committed to ensuring that no deserving student is deprived of education due to financial difficulties. He said financial assistance was being provided to needy students through the Chief Minister’s Scholarship App, while students pursuing higher education outside Goa could benefit from the Late Manohar Parrikar Scholarship Scheme.
Encouraging students to explore science, technology, research and innovation, Sawant urged them to make the most of emerging opportunities and contribute to the vision of Swayampurna Goa and Viksit Bharat.
Actor Ajay Purkar, who was also felicitated on the occasion, later addressed the gathering and encouraged students, teachers and parents to pursue excellence with dedication and self-belief.
