Drinking water fountain set up in school

RDA Minister and Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha inaugurated the clean drinking water facility at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Cortalim.
Parish Priest of Cortalim and manager of the school Fr Diogo Fernandes, Headmaster Gilroy DeSouza, Nestle India factory manager Jagdeep Marahar and Corporate Affairs manager Sanjay Bhandare were present.
Speaking on the occasion Saldanha said that it is the right of the children to have safe drinking water and she thanked representatives of Nestle India Ltd for installing this facility in the school under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The MLA further emphasising the importance of drinking water said that students can ensure the optimum condition of the brain by drinking water regularly.
Thanking the company, Fr Fernandes said that Nestle is not only a maker of nutritious and delicious food products, but is also focused on the needs of society at large through its CSR initiatives.
Jagdeep Marahar spoke to the children in detail about the nutritional needs of the human body and how water is most essential to keep the body at its best.
The headmaster also spoke on the occasion.
Bhandare thanked everyone on behalf of the company and distributed Nestle goodies to the school children participating in the programme, while handbooks on water and nutrition were also given to the students.
