The truck laden with sand which toppled at Aapevhal-Ponda.

A driver was seriously hurt when a truck carrying sand from Volvoim to Ponda toppled at Aapevhal in the wee hours of Sunday.
The road mishap led to a disruption of traffic along the route for about 4 hours.
The truck driver, Benjamin De Sa (56) is currently undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim. According to sources, another truck was on its way to Ponda and suddenly applied breaks at Aapevhal, which prompted De Sa to do the same with his vehicle. But he lost control of the truck and the vehicle toppled on the road.
Ponda police rushed to the site and removed the truck with the help of a crane, while labourers cleared the sand which had spilled on the road.
