A 47-year-old driver from Pune died, and six others were hurt in a crash at the Patradevi check post late Wednesday evening.
A car travelling from Goa to Maharashtra first collided with two two-wheelers, then crashed into the back of a truck at around 7.30 pm.
The car driver, Kantilal Vithal Shinde from Shindewasti-Vadebholhai Pune, died at the Banda Primary Health Centre.
A passenger in the front seat was seriously injured. A woman and three children in the back seat, as well as one of the two-wheeler riders, were also hurt.
Mopa Police and Mopa Traffic Police teams went to the site. The injured were later taken to GMC Hospital in Bambolim. Further investigation is ongoing.
