Dropped Sudin from cabinet for selfishness: CM

Says under him forget free water, people wouldn’t have got even paid water

VASCO
Claiming that he had dropped former PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar from the cabinet because he was a “selfish politician”, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday hit out at the and MGP leader and said if Dhavalikar had still been in the cabinet people would not have got any water, let alone free water being provided by the BJP government.

Addressing a large gathering during the Sarkar Tumchya Dari (government at your doorstep) event at MES College at Zuarinagar, Sawant also took on the Congress leaders and dared them to show which of their schemes was active to date and went on to thank 10 Congress MLAs for joining the BJP and contributing towards a strong and stable government.

“When we launched the free water supply, he (Dhavalikar) was jealous and began claiming that he had moved the file for free water supply as minister. Had he still been in the government, people today would not have got any water, forget about free water.”

“He was a selfish politician and we have thrown out such politicians only because of their selfishness. I congratulate the 10 (Congress) MLAs who joined us and help provide the State with a strong and stable government, failing which we would have had to function under the selfishness of such politicians,” said Sawant.

The CM also took a dig at the Congress leaders and challenged them to show what they had done for the people while they were in the government.

“I dare Digambar Kamat to show at least one scheme that they had implemented and is active till date, whereas I can say with pride that all schemes launched by us when late Manohar Parrikar was the CM continue to remain active till date,” said Sawant.

He expressed full faith in his administration and said he did not bother about new political parties or opposition parties.

Among the many leaders present at the Sarkar Tumchya Dari event at MES College included Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, Urban Development Minister Milind Naik, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha and Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, NRI Commissioner Narendra Savaikar and South Goa Collector Ruchika Katyal.
