CANACONA
Three micro-containment zones have been notified in Canacona following the detection of Covid cases in houses at Agonda, Ponsulem and Poinguinim.
In a Micro Containment Zone (MCZ) order signed by South District Magistrate Ruchika Katyal, six persons from a house at Shingale-Ponsulem and five persons each from a house at Welwada-Poinguinim and Parvem-Agonda had tested positive for Covid, compelling authorities to notified those areas as MCZ.
Similarly, three houses in Welwada, 11 houses in Parvem-Agonda and three houses at Shingale-Ponsulem have been declared as Buffer Zones for being vulnerable and in close proximity to the Covid cases.
A Rapid Response Team (RRT) has been set up comprising officials from the health, fire, police, civil supplies, electricity and PWD, with Canacona Mamlatdar Vimod Dalal as Duty Magistrate for the Containment Zone to maintain law and order round the clock.
Meanwhile, there were 31 active Covid cases in Canacona as on Friday and the cumulative number of cases are 3,703 and there have been 3,638 recoveries so far.
