Drugs planting case: Accused cops challenge order framing charges

The policemen then attached to the Anti-Narcotics Cell, who have been charged with planting narcotics on Israeli national David Driham alias Dudu have approached the Bombay High Court at Goa challenging the order framing charges against them.   

As per the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which took over the case from the Goa Police, a total of seven policemen including the Superintendent of Police and the Deputy Superintendent of Police had falsely framed Dudu in a bid to extort money from him.   

The Sessions Court, while discharging Dudu, framed charges against the accused cops.   

The case dates back to the year 2010, when the Anti Narcotics Cell of the Goa Police arrested Dudu allegedly for being in possession of ecstasy, heroin, cocaine, LSD and charas, all worth Rs 3.81 lakh.  

However, subsequently, using hidden cameras, his sister Ayala exposed how the Goa police were threatening drug dealers including her brother with being booked in false cases through planted evidence to extort money from them.
