A 36-year-old man from Aldona was arrested on charges of possessing drugs worth about Rs 4.5 lakh at Porbawada, Calangute, on Tuesday midnight. Calangute police had received information that a drug operation was to take place near the Little Goa Restaurant in Porbawada.
Police laid a trap and nabbed Vishnu Shyam Harmalkar of Santarshet, Aldona, on charges of possessing 45.3 gm of methamphetamine worth Rs 4.5 lakh.
The accused was later arrested in this connection. The police are conducting investigations under the supervision of Calangute Police Inspector Paresh Naik.
