Deputy Speaker and Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes and his wife took the first dose of Covid vaccination on Saturday.Fernandes along with his wife and former Panaji councillor, Pauline, visited the Manipal Hospital and both received the vaccination in the presence of Dr Shekhar Salkar.
“Took the Covid vaccination on Saturday at Manipal Hospital, Dona Paula. There was no pain, no fever and no giddiness. Everything is normal. My wife and I are at ease and comfortable after receiving the Covid vaccine,” Fernandes told The Goan.
It may be recalled that Fernandes had suffered a kidney ailment and later recovered, but is under care of the Manipal hospital. When the vaccination drive had began for people above 60 and those above 45 years with comorbidities, Fernandes was willing to avail the Covid vaccine with medical advice and approached Manipal hospital on Saturday, amid a break from the ongoing assembly session.
Stating the Covid vaccine is very safe, Fernandes has appealed to people, especially from Canacona taluka, to get vaccinated.
