The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has demanded an early resolution to the Old Goa structure issue so that justice is given to the people of Goa.
Speaking to reporters, TMC spokesperson Trajano D'Mello said that the issue is before the Additional Director of Panchayats (ADP), a quasi-judicial post, which lies with the government.
“But the ADP is giving tarik pe tarik and there is no hesitancy shown in the issue. Can this happen without the support of the government?” he posed while alleging that the BJP national leaders are bulldozing the laws of the land.
“They are using judiciary to suppress justice not to get justice,” D'Mello alleged.
Speaking on the occasion, Samil Volvoikar lambasted the government for favouring their leaders in availing licences through fraudulent means and harassing Goans even if they have all legal documents.
Volvoikar further criticised the way the administration is running in which those close to the government are being favoured.
“The Old Goa structure issue is one such example where the government is not serious in resolving the same. Various frauds are committed there but it looks like the government is trying to save that structure,” he alleged and demanded that the ADP take a decision on the matter at the earliest and give justice to the people of Goa.
“The Goans are watching as this is not only a religious issue but a heritage issue as well,” Volvoikar informed and warned the government not to play with the sentiments of the Goans.
