The Election Commission (EC) has postponed the publication of the final electoral rolls in Goa under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise from February 14 to February 21.
In a letter addressed to the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), the EC stated that the “final publication of electoral roll in respect of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) shall be done on February 21, 2026 (Saturday).”
The Commission has directed the CEO to inform all recognised political parties and other stakeholders about the revised schedule.
The SIR process in Goa had commenced on October 27 last year. The draft electoral rolls were subsequently published on December 16 as part of the revision exercise. The final rolls were initially scheduled to be released on February 14.
According to official figures, the draft rolls comprised a total of 11.85 lakh electors. Of these, 10.84 lakh electors were included in the draft list, while around 1.01 lakh names were placed in the ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead/Duplicate) category for further verification.
The Special Intensive Revision in the State was last held in 2002 -- an exercise held to ensure accuracy, and remove ineligible entries, including duplicate and deceased voters, while adding eligible new electors.
