Describing education as fundamental to development and growth of an individual, Chairman of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Bhagirath Shetye has said education builds and develops a person’s belief, ideologies and values.
“It gives an individual the ability to think with reason, pursue dreams and aspirations in life and live a respectable life in the society.” “Parents should allow their children the freedom to pursue careers of their choice and never dump their wishes on their children. There are no shortcuts to success and there is no alternate to hard work,” said Shetye.
He was addressing a function organised by L D Memorial High School of Vidhya Prabhodhan Educational Institution to felicitate students who excelled in SSC exams of Goa Board.
Chairman of Prabhodhan Education Institution Sanjay Walaulkar, educationist Datta Bhikaji Naik, school headmaster Mhalsakant Deshpande, vice headmaster Dina Bandodkar, Vitthal Parrikar and President of Parents Teachers Association Kedareshwar Narvekar were present at the programme. Deshpande, Naik and Parrikar also spoke on the occasion.
