Mormugao council mourns demise of supervisor

VASCO
Staff and workers at Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) have mourned the demise of their supervisor Marian Colaco (55) of Belabai-Vasco, who was known to many people in the port town.

According to workers, Colaco had last reported to work two days ago but had left half day after feeling unwell.

“We were informed that he was admitted to GMC hospital and on Friday, we got to know he had expired. He had some health issues in the last few days,” said the worker.

Outgoing councillor Rochana Borker described Colaco as a very helpful person.

“He is from our ward and I recall while we were in the opposition and faced difficulties, he would help me to get the work done of residents in the ward.” “The body was brought home on Saturday morning and the funeral was performed in the evening at St Andrew’s Church, Vasco.” said Borker.
