PANAJI

The Hyderabad police have intensified their search for Curlies' alleged owner Edwin Nunes after the High Court of Telangana at Hyderabad upheld the Metropolitan Court's order dismissing his anticipatory bail application.

The Single Bench hearing his appeal heard the arguments comprehensively wherein the Hyderabad police submitted to the court his criminal history in Goa. He and his associates have been making money out of this illegal drug trade which is affecting the youth and society," the government counsel, representing the Osmania University police, made this submission during the hearing.

The Hyderabad police are seeking his custodial interrogation in the drug-related case having crime number 374/2022 filed at the Osmania University Police Station in Hyderabad City under sections 8C, 22(C), and section 27 of the NDPS Act.

Nunes and 20-odd bars & Restaurants and clubs, mostly along the beach belt came under the scanner of the Hyderabad police after Anjuna local Pritesh Borkar confessed to an inter-state drug syndicate.

Nunes ' anticipatory bail plea was dismissed by the Metropolitan Court on September 23, two days after which he moved the High Court challenging the order. With his plea once again rejected, the police teams across both states are looking for his whereabouts.
