Eid Milad marked with prayers across Sattari

Eid-E-Milad-Un-Nabi, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Islamic Prophet Muhammad, was celebrated with prayers, processions and social events across Sattari taluka on Wednesday.Religious, social and cultural programmes were organised at Sadikwada, Nanus Mosque and various other mosques in the taluka.Processions were taken out from Sadikwada, Nanus and various other locations in and around Valpoi. Hundreds of citizens, including women and children, participated enthusiastically in the processions.Residents welcomed the processions at several places by arranging fruit juice, sweets, drinking water and refreshments. Participants were warmly received by people along the routes. The occasion also reflected a spirit of mutual respect, cooperation and goodwill among different sections of society, highlighting the message of social harmony and brotherhood.Various religious and cultural programmes were also organised at different mosques on the occasion. These included Quran recitation, religious discourses, recitations and singing, elocution competitions, as well as educational and cultural competitions for children. Speakers highlighted the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad and his teachings on humanity, peace and harmony, while encouraging people to follow these values in their daily lives.Speaking on the occasion, Imran Inamdar said Eid-E-Milad-Un-Nabi is a day of joy and religious significance for the Muslim community, and people eagerly look forward to the occasion every year.He said the festival promotes brotherhood without discrimination and has the ability to help people overcome differences, personal disputes and misunderstandings while encouraging love, affection and unity among all.
