Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias has reiterated he would contest the 2022 Assembly election on the BJP banner and asserting he would not contest if denied the party ticket.
After accompanying state BJP President Sadanand Tanavade on a tour of Cuncolim constituency on Tuesday, Clafacio told the media that he stands by his statement that he would not contest the polls if denied the party ticket.
The MLA, however, expressed confidence that the party will decide on the ticket after taking into account all the factors, including winnability and work.
“Let the party and workers decide on the ticket. I want to clarify that I will contest the coming election only on the BJP symbol,” he said, adding that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured to take up the pending development projects in Cuncolim and provide jobs to the unemployed.
