Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas reverberated in the Cuncolim countryside on Tuesday as state BJP President Sadanand Tanavade toured the constituency with local MLA Clafacio Dias in tow as part of the party’s preparedness ahead of the 2022 battle.
Tanavade began his tour from Macazana village where he lit candles at a cross. During his interactions with the people and party supporters, the state BJP President asserted that the Pramod Sawant government and the BJP will solidly stand by Congress-turned-BJP MLA Clafacio Dias in 2022.
“Continue your trust and faith in Clafacio and I can assure you the MLA will do justice to the people”, Tanavade said, adding that the government will address the issues of development and jobs to the unemployed before the elections.
“Stand by Clafacio and land him your helping hand to usher in the development of the constituency”, Tanavade gave the message to the workers and people.
Later briefing the media in the Cuncolim Municipal Council area after the day-long tour of the constituency, Tanavade said that the ticket and the candidate will be declared from the national capital after the elections are declared.
“The party will go with winnability criteria and comply with the laid down procedure in the selection of candidates. The same criteria applies to all the party leaders, including the Chief Minister,” he said.
Tanavade, however, said that one has seen the extent of support Congress-turned-BJP MLA enjoys in Cuncolim constituency, reminding the media that Clafacio is one MLA who had taken up the challenge in the ZP election and got the party elected with a comfortable margin.
“The Chandor-Guirdolim area was the epicenter of the agitation against track doubling and coal, but Clafacio took up the challenge and fielded Sanjana Velip on the party banner and got her elected. This only goes to show the extent of support he enjoyed,” he added.
