The High mast lamp installed at the entrance to the Benaulim beach came under lens of fishermen and visitors after locals complained of receiving electric shock.
Officials of the power department later disconnected supply to the high mast lamp, with a linesman attributing the shock to a fault.
Fisherman said though the high mast lamp was installed years ago, this is the first time that they had to face such a situation.
Locals further complained that the power department took some time to attend to the fault before the officials came and disconnected the power supply.
