The South Goa District Election authorities on Friday completed the task of handing over the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to the taluka election officials for storage in the strong rooms at the taluka headquarters.
The Old South Goa Collectorate building housing the EVMs was a centre of hustle and bustle as taluka election officials, besides police teams, all were in the building to collect their respective EVMs from the authorities.
The main road passing opposite the old Collectorate building witnessed traffic bottlenecks as vehicles lined up along the road to collect the EVMs and transport the same to the respective taluka headquarters.
Sources said the EVMs, which were handed over to the taluka deputy collectors, will now be stored in the strong rooms at the taluka headquarters.
