Justifying his decision to join Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM), former Congress MLA Shyam Satardekar said he joined the party by looking at the true and honest people like Subhash Velingkar, who have stood for noble cause.
“I joined GSM by looking at the leadership, motto and ideas of the party as they matches mine,” Satardekar told The Goan.
Satardekar, who recently joined the GSM party which is a part of Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch, said the new party has stood up to protect culture and mother tongue of Goa.
Satardekar said some years ago, he was the Congress MLA but there was no discipline in the party and things were not running properly.
“But looking at the work, struggle and efforts made by BBSM leaders for protection of mother tongue and MOI issue, I felt that GSM party was the right party to join,” he added.
When asked what he was willing to do in the new party, Satardekar said he would stay with the party and would support its cause.
To another question if he was expecting a ticket from GSM party to contest from Curchorem, Satardekar said he will remain and work for this party and won't complain even if the ticket was not given to him.
