The Aam Admi Party on Monday said the former Congress MLAs who have moved congratulatory motion on Citizenship Amendment Act have conned the voters.
AAP leader Sidharth Karapurkar said that the Goa Assembly passed congratulatory motion in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Act after MLAs Atanasio Monserrate and Clafasio Dias moved the motion congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for introducing the CAA 2019, made a mockery of the electorate that had voted them on Congress tickets.
“It also showed how deep the nexus was between these former Congress MLAs and the BJP in the run up to the elections” said the Aam Aadmi Party.
AAP leader Patricia Fernandes said that it was shameful that these former congressmen have behaved more as conmen who had conned people to vote for them although deep inside they worked for the BJP.
She asked these MLAs to stand on a public platform and state whether they have read about CAA or even understood it or have been forced to move the motion to prove their loyalty to BJP.
