After having quit as chief spokesman of Goa Forward Party late last year, Trajano D’Mello is expected to join Congress within a couple of days.
A senior Congressman informed that D’Mello was expected to join the party very soon.
It may be recalled D’Mello held the post of party spokesman when he last quit Congress. He was suspended from Congress for six years after he had made his differences with senior party leaders known when he publicly questioned the failure of Congress to cobble up an alliance soon after the 2017 assembly polls.
He then joined GFP in July 2017 as the party’s vice president and chief spokesman.
But after remaining with the party a little over a year, D’Mello resigned in October 2018 after a fallout with GFP President Vijai Sardessai.
D’Mello has been maintaining that he has quit active politics and he was not interested in electoral politics anymore.
