In a bid to sensitize Goa's youth about careers in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and other civil services, a series of talks are currently being organised across Goa.
The talks, open to students from class XI onwards, are being facilitated by Collaborative Learning Cafe, a venture initiated by the Friends of the Jesuits of the Goa Province and supported by the Goa Jesuits.
The talks are delivered by Anthony de Sa, a retired IAS officer who rose to become the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh in 2016-17.
One of these talks is slated to be held in Margao on Wednesday at the Holy Spirit Church hall at 6.30 pm.
De Sa, who has been appointed liquidator of the Mapusa Urban Co-operative Bank by the State government, lives in Divar.
After Margao, the next talk in the series by De Sa will be held in the capital city on Friday, June 17 at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall again at 6.30 pm.
Through the talks, De Sa deals with issues related to academic choices to be made, how to train for the civil service examination and the various branches of the Indian civil services.
Thus far he has already delivered one such talk at the St Jerome's Church in Mapusa last week which attracted an enthusiastic response from the young of the commercial town and outlying villages as well.
