Ex-navy chief inaugurates new Naval Course at INS Mandovi THE GOAN NETWORK

Admiral Arun Prakash, former Chief of the Naval Staff, inaugurated the 28th Naval Higher Command Course (NHCC) at the Naval War College, INS Mandovi in Verem on Monday.
According to the navy press note, the Naval War College is one of three war colleges of the Indian Armed Forces. Rear Admiral Monty Khanna is the current commandant.
The Naval Higher Command Course is conducted over a period of 32 weeks. A total of 38 officers of the rank of Captain from the Navy, Colonel from the Army, Group Captain from the Air Force and Commandant from the Coast Guard are taking part in the course.
The course curriculum covers a wide canvas for the participants inclusive of subjects like Theory of International Relations, Strategy and Policy, National Security, Operations of War, Higher Defence Management, Joint Operations, Technology, Logistics Management, Research Methodology, War-gaming, Regional Strategic Relations and International Political Economy.
During the eight-month long course, participants carry out research on subjects of operational importance to the Navy, as also work towards their dissertation for the award of MPhil Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies.
