“Maximum temperature will continue to be around 34°C with weather being dry all over the state,” the Director of the State Meteorological Department said in its daily forecast.
“Weather is most likely to be dry over Goa during the next five days. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 34°C and 25 °C respectively,” the forecast reads. ‘Unseasonal’ showers have eluded the state this year with there only being sporadic cloudy weather during the months of March and April so far. The state will nit receive sporadic showers during the summer as a prelude to the monsoons which offer temporary relief from the heat, the IMD said.
The IMD, which has predicted a near normal monsoon, has not yet predicted a date for its onset. The monsoon usually crosses Goa during the first week of June but has arrived late the last couple of years.
