SANGUEM
In a significant political development in the Sanguem constituency, former Sanguem councillor Messiah ‘Meshu’ D’Costa is set to join the Goa Forward Party (GFP) at the Sanguem Municipal Council hall on June 27 at 4 pm.
Meshu D’Costa, who has gained prominence through his active involvement in civic issues, public welfare initiatives, and local development matters, is expected to be formally inducted into the party in the presence of senior Goa Forward leaders. His recent campaigns highlighting public grievances—including waterlogging at Bendwada and road safety concerns in Sanguem—have further strengthened his image as a grassroots leader.
Political circles in Sanguem view D’Costa’s decision as a strategic move that could enhance the Goa Forward Party’s presence in the constituency.
Meanwhile, rumours are also rife that former Sanguem Municipal councillor Prakash Devu Gaonkar is likely to join the GFP during the same induction programme on June 27.
Although no official confirmation has been made, political observers note that Gaonkar has reportedly tendered his resignation from BJP primary membership.
