MARGAO
Facing flak for remaining silent during the discussion on coal in the Assembly, Curtorim Independent MLA Reginaldo Lourenco on Saturday reminded that he was the first MLA to oppose coal and his stand on coal remains unchanged.
He pointed out that he had not opposed the resolution on coal in the House, adding that he had only abstained.
“All this time, I have been opposing coal and my opposition is still there for coal. These Congress leaders have no right to criticise me. We do not know who will switch sides. I am still opposed to coal and there is no question of supporting coal, which would surely damage the environment and ecology of Goa,” he said.
