A family had a lucky escape when a truck rammed into a roadside house at Vithalapur in Karapur-Bicholim on Monday morning.
According to reports, the mishap took place as the truck was proceeding to Sankhali when the driver lost control and the truck rammed into the roadside house.
The kitchen and some parts of the house sustained extensive damages, while the house has also developed cracks. The Naik family has claimed that property worth Rs 6 lakh was damaged in the mishap.
Later in the day, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant went to the site and took stock of the damages to the house. He has assured to offer financial aid through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
He also directed the PWD and other department concerned to install protective railing to prevent similar road mishaps in future.
