PONDA
According to forest officials, Prabhakar Amshekar had gone to water his plantation, when he was attacked by the bison. Amshekar’s cries for help while running to safety were heard by locals in the area. They rushed to Amshekar’s rescue and noticed the bison close to him.
He was rushed to the Primary Health Centre and later shifted to GMC hospital. Forest officials said Amshekar sustained multiple injuries on his hand and body.
Forest officials informed that though Amshekar had installed solar fencing around his plantation, they suspect that the bison must have entered the plantation from one side which was not fenced.
It may be recalled that Yenu Solyenkar (54) from Shivade-Dharbandora was gored to death by a bison in his plantation on March 29. In a bid to located the bison, the forest department had installed night vision cameras at Shivade, but could not capture the movement of the bison.
