In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old minor girl has become pregnant after she was allegedly repeatedly raped by her own father since the last several months.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, the Margao police were swift in placing the accused father under arrest for rape and under the provisions of Goa Children’s Act and POCSO Act.
Margao police station in-charge, PI Kapil Nayak said the incident came to light a day ago when the mother conducted a pregnancy test on the minor girl after she did not get her menstrual cycle for over a fortnight. As the test turned positive, the girl was questioned by the mother, only to spill the beans that she was repeatedly raped by her own father since April last.
PI Kapil said that the girl did not complain the advances of his father to her mother out of fear of being harmed by him. She is presently being admitted in the hospital and is undergoing treatment.
The Margao police is investigating.
