Superintendent of Police, South Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS said the police would look into the question of negligence, if any, on the part of the constables present at the scene of offence. “The policemen present at the site got the duo accused stop the attack on the victim. I do not think there was any negligence on the part of the police in promptly stopping the assault,” he said, adding that police too were prompt in arresting the father-son duo.

Cuncolim police station in-charge, Police Inspector Terrance D’Costa said victim Santosh Naik, has been shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim as he has sustained serious injuries in the assault.
