Fatorda police raid hotel, rescue woman and arrest 3 for prostitution

The Fatorda police conducted a prostitution raid in a hotel at Fatorda near the KTC bus stand and rescued a woman brought for the purpose of prostitution.

The police arrested three persons including the pimp and manager of the hotel and a customer.

Acting on a tip-off, the police headed by PI Kapil Nayak conducted the raid on the hotel and rescued the 33 year old woman, a native of Thana-Maharashtra. 

The victim has since been sent to the women’s protective home. PI Nayak informed the woman was detained at the hotel by the manager and the pimp, a native of Odisha, and were exploiting her by forcing her into prostitution

The Fatorda police have registered an offence under the provisions of the IPC and under the Immoral Trafficking Act.

Further investigations are underway.
