Any project that government approves has to be for the common wellbeing of the citizens. However, it has been months now that Goans are relentlessly fighting to show and convince the government that its decisions in the recent past, especially with regard to the 3 linear projects, are not only devastating time but also its repercussions are going to be lethal for generations to come.
The Goan youth are demanding answers with regard to these life-threatening issues. However, officials, particularly some of our elected representatives, either evade their queries or indulge in delaying tactics or resort to indirect threats.
The present government seems to be hell-bent in choking all voices of dissent, opposition and protest, which are the hallmarks of a vibrant democracy.
This calls for a concerted, courageous and persevering effort on part of all Goans to unitedly thwart such nefarious designs of people with vested interests and hidden agenda.
Hence, we all need to be ultra-vigilant incessantly to see that our government undertakes only those projects which serve the greatest good of the greatest number and not just promotes the interests and well-being of a few superfluous rich corporates and persons.
