The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) continued its inspection drive at the Old Market feast fair on Tuesday to check if food stalls were following hygiene rules.
FDA officer Sanjyot Kudalkar, who led the team, found one stall operating in an unhygienic manner and ordered it to shut down.
The official said the drive will continue throughout the fair. She also reminded stall owners that they must get a licence from the FDA and maintain hygiene.
“We came across a stall which was run in an unhygienic condition. Even the source of water, which is being used for the purpose of cooking is not known,” Kudalkar said, adding that the FDA will order the stall to shut down immediately.
