Filipina Fernandes was elected unopposed to the post of sarpanch of the village panchayat of Loutolim on Monday.
In the election held on Monday, Filipina was elected unopposed after the Presiding Officer Nafiza Sheikh received her lone nomination paper.
The post of sarpanch had fallen vacant after Inacinho Fernandes had voluntarily resigned from the post.
After her election, Filipina said her priority as sarpanch would be to work for the development of the village by taking into confidence all her colleagues and people of the village.
She expressed confidence of the support from all as she has been elected unopposed for the post.
