MARGAO: A complaint was lodged with the Margao police on Thursday alleging that a pet dog has sustained gun shots injuries at Navelim.
Margao Police station in-charge, PI Suraj Samant told The Goan late Thursday evening that the police are registering a FIR against the person accused for firing the gun shots.
Saying the incident constitutes a serious case of animal cruelty under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, the complainant stated that the dog is severely traumatised and injured, adding that the family is equally disturbed by the event.
While making a plea to the Margao police to register the complaint and initiate a thorough investigation, the complainant assured the police to provide all necessary evidence including witness statements, medical reports from the veterinarian, and photos of the injuries.
