While the party refrained from identifying the IPS officer, it indicated at DIG A Koan as he has been stripped of his responsibilities after the incident at the Baga club.
The officer is alleged to have misbehaved with a woman in an inebriated condition.
TMC National Spokesperson Trajano D’Mello, TMC SC/ST Coordinator Santosh Mandrekar, and Goa TMC Spokesperson Jayesh Shetgaonkar on Saturday demanded the filing of an FIR against the IPS officer and to fast track the case.
D’Mello expressed surprise over one MLA’s statement, who raised the issue in the just concluded Assembly session, and demanded to suspend the said officer.
“Why is the FIR not lodged against the IPS officer, besides a criminal charge, when CCTV footage is easily available. The investigation should have been on fast-track court, for other officers not to misbehave, and the law should follow its normal course. On the contrary, the DGP is asking why the media has started its own investigations,” D’Mello questioned.
