The Cuncolim Fire and Emergency Service officials on Saturday rushed to Velim after receiving information that a fire had broken out at a industrial unit involved in the manufacturing of coated modern furniture and fixtures.
The fire brigade informed that through their efforts they had managed to save property worth around Rs 10 lakh.
The exact loss caused by the fire is still being assessed.

However, they were unable to confirm whether the dump was a part of a scrapyard or if it was an scrap dump.Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the site of the fire.
