The Maina-Curtorim police have registered two FIRs against the two groups who were involved in the group clash at the Rumdamol Housing Board on Sunday noon.
In the first case, an FIR has been registered against Jayesh Naik and son, both associated with the Swami Samarth temple upon a complaint lodged by Mrs Parveen Khan, 45, alleging that the duo cut the rope of the religious flag and threw the religious flag on the ground hoisted on the occasion of Eid festival, thereby hurting her religious sentiments.
She also claimed she and another lady Munia Sheikh were allegedly abused in filthy words. Further, the FIR states that the complainant lady was allegedly assaulted with a koita.
Offences under Sections 295-A, 504, 506 (ii), 324, 427 read with section 34 of the IPC stands registered against the duo.
In the second FIR, the police have registered offences under section 341, 324, 506 (ii) read with section 34 of the IPC against Salman and two others, for allegedly assaulting Jayesh with an iron pipe on his head and also assaulted his son. The FIR states that the three accused entered inside the property of Shree Swami Samarth Temple at Bhagwati-Rumdmol and wrongfully restrained Jayesh and son Om before assaulting them.
