Goa’s Electricity Department has launched a one-time settlement scheme to waive off delayed electricity payment charges. AAP leaders said that the announcement of this scheme is the result of the continuous pressure by the Party on BJP government, calling this the first victory for AAP.
“This is just the beginning. We at AAP will continue to strive for the betterment of Goans and ensure that the government announces free electricity with a 24x7 power supply,” AAP Convenor Rahul Mhambre said.
The AAP in Goa has been demanding from the Goa government a 24-hour, uninterrupted power supply, 200 units of free electricity, and up to 400 unit bills halved for Goans, like in Delhi. AAP also announced the Veej Andolan following the debate on electricity between AAP’s Valmiki Naik and Goa’s Power Minister Nilesh Cabral.
“Our volunteers will knock on every Goan’s door under the 'Veej Andolan' and explain to them how the Sawant-led BJP government is denying Goans what they deserve. Goa will also see a referendum soon on BJP’s inability to provide free electricity. It is time to expose the BJP’s corrupt politics which has taken everything from Goans,” Mhambre added.
