Union Minister of Shipping and Tourism Shripad Naik on Thursday said efforts were being made to strengthen infrastructure at the Mormugao Port.
“Our main aim is to ensure that the port functions well and we have had several discussions with the port. I have told them that we will provide all the support that the port needs to function in a full-fledged manner,” said Naik, during a function in the MPA on Thursday.
“We are already working on the international cruise terminal which will be completed within the next six months. Cruise tourism business will increase which is beneficial for the port and the State.”
The union minister said there had been an issue with the petroleum pipeline which had affected business but that would be resolved in the next few days and the fuel products would restart from the port.
