Follow rules: Dy Collector to mining firms

Quepem Dy Collector Prashant Shirodkar asked managers of mining companies to follow guidelines so as to avoid accidents.

Addressing a joint meeting in his office, Shirodkar also instructed the mine managers to lay emphasis on regulating ore transportation to avoid traffic jams, enforcing speed limit of trucks to avoid accidents and installation of CCTV cameras at exit points.   
Later speaking to The Goan, Shirodkar clarified that the joint meeting at Quepem was not linked to the agitation by locals at Shivsorem-Rivona.   
“The joint meeting was convened to maintain ore transportation without creating traffic congestion and to ensure safety of locals.
