A forest team seized Khairi wood worth Rs 1.2 lakh which was brought illegally on Sunday night and arrested Ravji Nagvekar and truck driver Ismail Shaikh in the connection.
The Khairi wood was brought illegally from Canacona in a truck and it was being taken out of the State when forest officer Harish Mahale along with his team Sandip Naroji and Jitendra Naik stopped the truck for an inspection. They found that the truck had 146 Khairi logs.
The logs were seized and both suspects were arrested by the Forest Department team.
