Former CCP mayor, corporator likely to join Cong on Sept 3

Former Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji, Tony Rodriguez is likely to join Congress on September 3.

The former corporator Daya Karapurkar is also expected to join Congress on the same day.

As per sources in the Congress, they will join the party in a function on September 3 in presence of some central leaders.

Tony Rodriguez had met with All India Congress Committee election observer to Goa, P Chidambaram two days ago along with former Mayor Uday Madkaikar. Tony has shown his willingness to contest in the Taleigao constituency against BJP MLA Jennifer Monserrate.
